The Gallery at Virginia Commonwealth University in Qatar presents Crossing Boundaries: Contemporary Art and Artists from South Africa, curated by VCUQatar gallery director Jochen Sokoly and South African gallerist Ortrud Mulder on Wednesday, 26 January 2011. The exhibition, Crossing Boundaries: Contemporary Art and Artists from South Africa, brings together a diverse group of contemporary artistswhose work represents artistic practice in photography, mixed media, print, installation and text. It reflects discourses with culture, environment, society and self and provides an insight into contemporary post-Apartheid South Africa. The exhibition will be opened by the director of the South African National Gallery in Cape Town, Riason Naidoo following his opening lecture.
