The lithographs were produced by participating artists during a two week workshop at the Michaelis School of Fine Art during November 2014. The workshop, organized by the Africa South Art Initiative (ASAI), was facilitated by Thembinkosi Goniwe, Andrea Steer and Stephen Inggs. The artists, some of whom are well known, others emerging, constitute a diverse grouping. Between them, they have significant experience asprintmakers, painters, sculptors, muralists, illustrators, digital artists, performance artists, musicians, textile artists, and mixed-media. Apart from Davis, who produced a series of lithographs at UCT in 1994, this was the first time these artists had worked with the medium.
