Time, history and memory haunt Nadja Daehnke’s exhibition Equals & Averages. The work reflects the relentless
passing of time; and yet we obsessively relive this past in our memories in order to form our identities. Memories,
necessarily re-imagined, hold us in their grip.Simultaneously we consider ourselves as incomplete and yearn for a mythical future self. We are told what to aspire
to in order to achieve a cultural fantasy of perfect, complete normality.
